Scottish born and trained, the colourful chef completed his Apprenticeship in Scotland within various high class restaurants and hotels around the Loch Lomond area before heading down south to England to further his passion.
Gordon worked again in various hotels and restaurants within the south of England before moving into London to work in the Michelin starred restaurant, Le Pont De la Tour at Tower Bridge under the guidance of award winning chefs Henrik Iversen and David Burke. Gordon then moved to The Collection Restaurant in Kensington London with award winning Chris Benians to further educate his palete on Pacific Rim techniques and the use of Asian flavours before coming over to Australia and settling in Melbourne.
During his time so far in Australia, Gordon has had the pleasure to work with various high profile chefs as part of the management structure Co-ordinating the Celebrity Theatre at the Good Food Show, travelling around Australia and working with chefs Gordon Ramsay, Matt Moran, Tobie Puttock and Ainsley Harriot to name a few.
Gordon, like Martin, also spent a large amount of time at The Grand Hyatt on Collins Street, Melbourne, before moving to Evelyn County Estate, as Executive Chef during the multi award winning years.
From there Gordon decided to channel his passion into teaching Hospitality within Eltham College at Swipers Gully restaurant before heading back to open BrownKorte’s on Evelyn County Estate with his mate and business partner, Martin de Korte.
